Sherman Alexei (?)

i dont know if i spelled that right... but i was reading a book titled something like the true diary of a part-time indian and it was actually really good. there was a cartoon here and there because the main character, Junior, was a cartoonist. it was about how he left his school on the indian reserve to go to a white school and pretty much everyone hated him but his life did get better. the end was him playing basketball with a friend who was his friend then hated him and then i think they became friends again. :)
